Wind-load performance for the high-rise
A bank tower in the Accra CBD or Airport City carries real positive and negative wind pressure, and the curtain wall has to transfer that load back to the structure without excessive deflection or glass stress. We engineer the mullion sections, brackets and movement joints to the building’s design wind load and verify structural performance to ASTM E330 before the system is signed off.
Weather-tightness that survives the rains
The envelope’s first job is to keep wind-driven rain out at the face and drain anything that gets behind the glass. We design and test the air and water performance of the wall — ASTM E283 for air leakage and ASTM E331 for water penetration under static pressure — and confirm the installed wall in the field with the AAMA 501 test family.
A flush, frameless statement
Major banks routinely want the frameless structural-glazed face — glass bonded to the frame with structural silicone so the elevation reads as an almost capless sheet of glass. Standards & Performance
Facade Ghana specifies and tests against the real performance standards, and never claims a class a system has not been tested to:
- ASTM E283 — air leakage through the façade at a set pressure differential
- ASTM E331 — water penetration under static pressure
- ASTM E330 — structural performance under positive and negative wind load
- AAMA 501 test family — field water-penetration (501.1 dynamic, 501.2 hose) and seismic / inter-storey-drift verification of the installed wall
- EN 1090 — execution of aluminium and steel structures (Execution Classes EXC1–4) governing how the system is fabricated
- EN 13501-1 — reaction-to-fire classification where aluminium composite panels (ACP) form part of the elevation
